Neighborhood

Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of an incredible array of top-notch local flavors (no chain restaurants here!). Indulge in vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, savor wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for an elegant evening at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch. Portland's charm extends beyond its culinary delights. The vibrant indie spirit of the Hawthorne area is alive with a multitude of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques, making it a true hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping isn’t your preferred activity, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent. Here, you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city, providing a perfect escape into nature right within the city limits. Whether you're a foodie, a nature enthusiast, or someone who loves exploring unique shops, the Hawthorne/Buckman District offers something special for everyone.

Good to know

The exterior of our building stands out in a cityscape increasingly dominated by uniform structures. Featuring rusted metal siding, painted stucco panels, and blackened Japanese Shou Sugi Ban wood, it creates a distinctive aesthetic that catches the eye of anyone traveling along Hawthorne Boulevard. Ideally located between the bustling commercial heart of Hawthorne and charming, leafy streets lined with architectural gems from the past 120 years, our building offers the best of both worlds. Inside, the design embraces a sleek, soothing European ambiance, with every detail crafted for luxury and comfort. High-end surfaces and finishes include mini-split heating and cooling systems, stainless steel appliances (including dishwashers), in-unit washer/dryers, and soaring 9-ft ceilings. Natural light pours through the huge windows, illuminating the stunning cabinetry and glittering quartz countertops, while the overall atmosphere is one of modern elegance and serene sophistication. Thank you for considering our place, we hope to welcome you soon!

Jeff’s place was perfect for us! It’s in a great neighborhood with so many restaurants and cafes near us, felt like we didn’t have to travel too far to go to the spots we liked. The house itself was very clean, with Portland recommendations available for us and a very comfy bed! I would recommend Jeff’s place to anyone visiting Portland :)
